Today was the first day of the Food Fair in Bournemouth town center! I thought it would be like the international food fair that they sometimes have with loads of different patisserie and stands where you can buy international produce. This food fair was more of the Bournemouth restaurants selling food and British companies selling food such as the Pie Minster from Bristol. Whilst I was there I had:
- Prawn Tempura - I only had one but it came with sweet chilli sauce. The tempura was a lot thicker than tempura I’ve had before but it had a lovely crunch and the Prawn was delicious.
- Cheddar and Cramalised Onion Quiche - the filling was set wonderfully and it had a nice layer of onions underneath however the pastry was overcooked which was a let down! :(
- Summer Roulade with Lemon curd, Raspberries and Passion fruit - I’ve decided I don’t like passion fruit….. but apart from that it was delicious! I only had this because there was a cookery demonstration of someone making it and at the end we were allowed to take a slice. Lemon curd and Raspberries are now best friends. Oh my word.
Yum.
